Mapping Violence

As part of the research team for Mapping Violence, a digital humanities project led by Dr. Monica Muñiz Martinez, I am responsible for researching case studies of racial violence in Texas. I implemented organizational tools and practices to improve the workflow for the project.

Smithsonian Institution

I worked for the project Digital Access to Latino/a/x Collections with the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Transcription Center, Museum of American History. My responsibility for the project included evaluating three digitized collections - Mel Casas, Jaime Davidovich, Naúl Ojeda. I selected materials for the transcription center, wrote about the project, and created educational resources based on these collections.

Harry Ransom Center

I was able to assist the instructional service team in teaching clases with materials from the collections, both in-person and via Zoom. I worked closely with faculty to research their classes and find materials relevant to their subject areas.
